PRESENTATION

We are living in a world that is changing at breakneck speed. Our society is continuously incorporating new advances that improve our quality of life. But behind these improvements that form part of our everyday activities lie complex processes of research, development and innovation involving industrial, social and economic agents with one key element: technology.

The Technology Centers associated with Fedit are among the most active agents in boosting these R&D&I activities. Despite the very different sectors in which they operate, and the diversity of their client companies, the Centers have a number of basic characteristics that define them within the system of innovation, and delimit the technological centre model as represented and defended by Fedit. Among the characteristic elements are their independence, commitment to the business world, technology as the key to their activity, and the excellence of their management.

History, strategy, partners and alliances

From their creation to the end of the 1960s, the Technology Centers belonging to Fedit have contributed to the development and competitiveness of the companies in their area of influence.

Despite their private origin, they have also attracted the attention of the public sector. They now operate to increase the competitiveness of private companies and to act as public disseminators and catalysers of development.

One of the objectives of the Federation is to act as a qualified and recognized partner for the rest of the agents in the sector, particularly with the public authorities and international bodies. For this reason it works closely with the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade; the Institute for Foreign Trade; the High Council for Chambers of Commerce; the National Statistics Institute; and the University of Carlos III, as well as other bodies.
